South Swale Nature Reserve
Location: South Swale Nature Reserve - Kent
Coverage of TTE on the site: 3350m²
The Nature Reserve covers 850 acres and is home to thousands of species flora and fauna. Some of which are protected species
The site is located within Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and RAMSAR (A Ramsar Site is a wetland site designated of international importance under the Ramsar Convention) sites
The client (The Environmental Agency) had to work closely with Natural England to ensure that the work did not damage these environmental designated sites and therefore they were not allowed to import any top soil to the site
The track was required to improve the operational access to the Sluice
The area can have a tidal range of 5m
Before and After
TTE was the ideal solution for this project due to the strict protection of the site and the fact that existing top soil had to be used (no additional grass seed could be added)
